City Redevelopment
The Department also coordinates redevelopment activities across the City of Huntington and within its Tax Increment Financing (TIF) districts. This includes working alongside property owners, developers, other City Departments and agencies such as Huntington County Economic Development. Additionally, the Department administers the day-to-day functions of the City of Huntington Redevelopment Commission and oversees projects undertaken by the Commission.
Redevelopment activities are intended to provide increased economic opportunity by utilizing public resources to leverage increased private investment in order to increase property values, create and preserve jobs and improve quality of life.
