Gun Permits

Gun permits may be obtained at the Huntington County Sheriff's Office during the following times:

Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Guidelines:

• You must live in Huntington County (NOT Huntington City or surrounding towns).
• Must bring a valid Indiana ID or driver's license with your current address.
• Must be able to provide any previous felony convictions during the application process (criminal history check will be performed).
• To obtain a gun permit, you MUST visit firearms.ariesportal.com to fill out initial forms.

Please note: Starting January 1, 2017, our office will no longer do fingerprinting for gun permits per the new state guidelines. All fingerprints must be scheduled with an L1 Solution Center during the online application process or by clicking the following link: in.ibtfingerprint.com.
