Lafontaine Street reopened on Wednesday evening between Tipton Street and the bridge. While the sewer installation project still has a ways to go, we’re glad to have street surfaces, curbs and sidewalks completed and newly planted trees on this portion of the Long-Term Control Plan route.

A unanimous City Council vote on October 29 authorized a lease revenue rental bond proposal that will fund nearly $10 million for capital projects. Financial consultant Baker Tilly Municipal Advisors confirmed the plan will keep the city’s portion of the overall tax rate flat with no out-of-pocket taxpayer impact.
