The city has encountered a mechanical issue with the water treatment process, leading to discoloration of the water in several areas of the system. The city is actively working to resolve this matter.

Contractors working for the City will close the intersection at Lafontaine Street and West Park Drive one more time to wrap up construction in the immediate area. The closure is expected to begin this Monday, October 21, and last about 10 days.

Leaf pickup for the City of Huntington will begin Monday October 21, 2024, weather permitting. Updates will be posted on the City of Huntington’s Facebook page on a regular basis, or can be obtained by calling City Services at (260) 356-4720.

Huntington’s City Council approved a Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area, or DORA, on Tuesday night that will be in effect during some special events starting in 2025. The final vote was 5-2.

The Huntington Fire Department, city officials and others in attendance pushed a new fire engine into the Etna Avenue station on Monday. The "pushing-in ceremony" is a tradition that traces back to when fire equipment was horse-drawn and had to be pushed into the station.

Construction crews working at Lafontaine and State will briefly close the bridge and intersection early on the morning of Thursday, September 19. If you normally use the Lafontaine bridge, please use Jefferson, Briant or Broadway instead.
