The Drop-Off Recycling Center on West Park Drive will have new, extended hours starting Monday, April 14.

  • Mondays: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Tuesdays: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Thursdays: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Fridays: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • 2nd Saturday of the month: 8 a.m. to noon

An attendant will be on site to make sure the right items are going into the bins.

Absolutely no plastic bags should be placed in the bins. Hazardous materials are not accepted at the West Park Drive location and must be taken to the Hazardous Materials Facility instead.

  • Aluminum and Steel Cans
  • Cardboard (flattened)
  • Newspapers, Inserts and Office Paper
  • Metal-Free Plastic Containers
  • Paperback Books and Phone Books
  • Plastic Bottles and Jugs
  • Glass Bottles and Jars
  • Magazines, Brochures and Catalogs
  • Cardboard Containers

Materials Not Accepted

  • Plastic Bags and Plastic Wrap
  • Foam Packaging
  • Food Waste
  • Yard Waste
  • Medical Waste
  • Clothing and Shoes
  • Construction and Demolition Waste
  • Batteries
  • Electronics
  • Household Hazardous Waste

How to Prepare Recyclables

  • Keep your recyclables out of plastic bags.
  • Place items loose in the cart.
  • Items should be empty, clean and dry.



Hazardous Materials Facility

The Hazardous Materials Facility at 517 S 300 W accepts the same recyclable materials as listed above. Its hours will remain:

  • Wednesdays: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month: 8 to 11:30 a.m.

Additionally, Huntington County residents can take household hazardous materials (electronics, paints, flammables, batteries, etc.) to the Hazardous Materials Facility. Such items are accepted ONLY at this location. For a full list of accepted hazardous materials, please click here.
