Mayor Strick watches Creative Abilities studio members paint a picture of Sunken Gardens

Mayor Strick joined Pathfinder’s Creative Abilities Art Studio on Thursday morning for “Painting with the Mayor.”

This year’s Disabilities Awareness Month artwork is a scene of the historic Sunken Gardens. Creative Abilities participants will finish the painting before presenting it to the mayor. Look for it to be on display in his office.

National Disabilities Awareness Month celebrations take place each March. Here in Huntington, community members joined us last week for an official proclamation. Pathfinder and the Community Foundation announced seven accessibility grants on the same day. Still to come, the Huntington library will host Disabilities Awareness story times on March 25 and 27.

Thank you to everyone who does their part to make Huntington welcoming and accessible for people of all abilities.
