Christmas in the City

Save the date for Christmas in the City 2022 from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, November 26, in downtown Huntington.

All activities are free!

  • 1 p.m.: Free showing of the movie "The Polar Express" at the Huntington County Historical Museum (315 Court St.).
  • 3 to 5:30 p.m.: Free photo’s when you visit with Santa at the Courthouse.

Story time and crafts at Huntington Arts & Entrepreneurial Center (32 E. Franklin St.), live reindeer and alpaca, petting zoo and motorized train rides.

There will be free horse drawn wagon rides and photos with with cardboard cutouts of your favorite characters located throughout downtown. Meet live characters including Elsa and Anna from "Frozen," Cindy Lou Who and Buddy the Elf.

Rotary Park Tree Lighting Ceremony

As Christmas in the City ends, be sure to make your way up the street to Rotary Park, 551 N. Jefferson St., for the grand finale!

The HARTA Bicyclists Light Parade will guide Santa Clause to Rotary Park for the 6 p.m. lighting of the Christmas tree. Glow sticks will be distributed, and there will be a countdown to the tree lighting. The tree displays more than 12,000 lights in a variety of patterns that are synced to holiday music.

Wreath Lighting Ceremony at Sunken Gardens

The holiday wreath and festive decorations at Sunken Gardens, 1125 W. Park Drive, will be turned on for the season at 6 p.m. Sunday, November 27, following Christmas carols by the Community Choirs of Huntington County at 5:30 p.m. Join us for hot chocolate, candy canes and a fun community celebration!
